We are currently accepting donations for the 2024 tax year for the VA Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits Program.
The Foundation currently accepts donations earmarked* by donors to provide scholarships to eligible students in these schools:
*We direct funds to the school of the donor's choice provided the school has eligible students to receive the funds.
The Hague School Foundation is actively seeking a scholarship-granting relationship with partner schools in the Hampton Roads Region.
Why?
By the rules of the VA EISTCP program, The Hague School Foundation must disburse some funds to at least one other independent school in the Commonwealth. As such, the Foundation’s mission aims to support any Hampton Roads area independent school that serves students in grades 6-8 and that is willing to meet the Foundation’s partner school requirements (below).
Foundation donors may specify their choice of recipient school within our list of partner schools, to which we will provide the first opportunity to find eligible students to use the funds. For students to be eligible, family income must be below 3x federal poverty guidelines, and the school (if not VA accredited) must be able to provide norm-referenced exam scores for that student. Additionally, a school may not take more than VA SOQ funding allotment (currently ~$7,500) per eligible student per school year. Any funds not disbursed to the donor’s choice of school will instead be allocated on the basis of student need within our portfolio of partner schools, or to another school in the Commonwealth.
Partner schools will ideally meet the following requirements:
Non-public (e.g. independent) school.
Offers grades 6-8, at minimum.
Located in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, or Chesapeake.
Willing to collaborate with The Hague School's leadership team in raising student and family awareness about The Hague School as a high school choice.
May also have its own high school program, but should willing to embrace the view that The Hague School can be an attractive option for students for whom their current learning environment is not a fit. E.g. we are not a competitor, but a niche, complementary, alternative high school option.
Must either be accredited by the state of VA, or be willing to administer at least one norm-referenced test to any student who receives a scholarship.
Must be able to identify students who meet the EISTCP eligibility requirements.
